Cardmix and Mask A Rade partner with Viz

Cardmix launched a collection of greetings cards based upon the popular Viz characters at Progressive Greetings this week. In the same week, Mask-A-Rade signed up to become Viz’s latest licensee. The magazine, published by Dennis Publishing, is performing extremely well in a competitive market, increasing its distribution in many leading store groups.

Three new partners for VIZ

Cardmix, Carousel Calendars and Morph Suits are to create new product ranges for Viz in 2013. Cardmix will design a range of greetings cards using Viz’s popular characters and Morph Suits are creating a range of Viz morph suit costumes. Carousel Calendars is to develop a selection of ‘dated’ products, including a ‘page-a-day’ Profanisaurus calendar.

Metrostar Appointed Licensing Agent for DOWNTON ABBEY

Metrostar, has been appointed by NBCUniversal International to represent its multi award-winning drama series, DOWNTON ABBEY, in the UK. Metrostar will seek partners – both retailers and licensees – for Downton Abbey in home ware, kitchenware, giftware, greetings, accessories, toiletries and stationery.

The Great British Bake Off kitchenware enters Sainsbury’s

Ethos International has launched the first range of kitchenware under The Great British Bake Off brand.  the range which is exclusive to Sainsbury’s features aluminium bakeware, food preparation items, kitchen textiles and ceramics, all using the brand styling developed by Love Productions and Minnow Creative.

Quercus wins rights to publish first Clandestine Cake Club book

Quercus is to publish a book from The Clandestine Cake Club in February 2013.  Lynn Hill who started the Club as a retirement project in Leeds, will create, collate and test recipes for the book, many of which have been provided by members.  There are now over 150 CCC branches all over the UK and Lynn has appeared on The One Show, Alan Titchmarsh and Woman’s Hour.

CSC Imports to produce Dear Zoo partyware

CSC Imports is to develop a range of Dear Zoo partyware in a first licensing deal for the company.  CSC’s products include partyware for weddings, the Jubilee, new baby and Easter but this is their first foray into brand licensing.  The range will be launched at the Autumn Fair at the NEC in August.

The Scout Association appoints Metrostar as licensing agent Worldwide

The Scout Association has confirmed that it has extended its relationship with Metrostar to include Brand Licensing.  Metrostar has been working with the Scouts in Book Publishing for two years during which time it has sold rights to children’s non-fiction and a cookery title.  It is now developing a style guide geaturing the Scouts Heritage Assets.

Binary Box to produce Dear Zoo decorations

Binary Box has been awarded the rights to produce a range of Dear Zoo artwork to decorate children’s bedrooms.  The company plans to launch the range at the Autumn Fair.

Meld Group to produce Dear Zoo lift-the-flap jigsaw for Marks & Spencer

Meld Group has acquired the rights to produce an exclusive lift-the-flap Dear Zoo jigsaw for Marks & Spencer. It will be the first time that the retailer has listed a Dear Zoo product which will be in-store in Autumn 2012.

Paul Dennicci acquires Dear Zoo clothing

Paul Dennicci has acquired the rights to produce Dear Zoo baby and toddler clothing.  The range, which includes underwear, outerwear, nightwear and accessories, will appear in TU Clothing at Sainsbury’s in Winter 2012.  Toy Lowe will develop puppet socks and Brand Group will develop footwear, to accompany the range.
