Alice Tait is a popular British illustrator who loves to draw. She loves taking inspiration from the hustle and bustle of life around her and is often out and about with her sketchbook capturing interesting faces or well-loved land marks. However Alice still loves nothing better than an afternoon in her studio, elbow deep in old type books and coloured inks, with her constant companion Roger the sausage dog.
After graduating from Bath in 2002 with a first class degree, Alice set up studio in London and has been busy ever since, with a client list including Vogue, Penguin Books, The Times and Waitrose. In recent years Alice’s city map illustrations have proven especially popular and led her to create her first licensed product ranges which have met with great commercial success.
Alice was spotted by Metrostar in an article in The Observer which tipped her as “ … the next Emma Bridgewater”. Their first task was to find her a publisher and Alice’s first picture book, ‘No Nancy No!’ was published in May 2017 by Walker Books. It has been an immediate hit.
Recently, Alice has added more lines to her best-selling ‘Alice Tait London’ giftware collection. Produced by Temple Island Collections, it is a market leader in many iconic attractions and stores serving visitors to the UK; including John Lewis, WH Smith, the Historic Royal Palaces and Waterstones.
Alice’s latest venture is ‘My Little Soldier’, a beautiful collection of illustrations and patterns, ideally suited for the baby apparel, melamine, ceramics and giftware market, which Metrostar is proud to showcase at Brand Licensing Europe.
