James Morton was runner-up in the 2012 series of The Great British Bake Off. He grew up in the Shetland Isles and learnt to bake with his granny. Currently studying medicine at the University of Glasgow, James’s spare time is devoted to baking bread, brewing beer and writing books. His first title, Brilliant Bread, published by Ebury in August 2013, received widespread critical acclaim and was awarded the 2014 Guild of Food Writers Award for Cookery Book of the Year. His second book, How Baking Works…And what to do if it doesn’t, was published by Ebury in March 2015; his third book, Brew, was published by Quadrille in May 2016.
