About The Great British Bake Off

The Great British Bake Off is a television baking competition to find Britain’s best amateur baker.

The competition is judged by baking writer Mary Berry and professional baker Paul Hollywood. Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins present and the fifth series was broadcast on BBC One Summer 2014.

Series five, screened on BBC One from August to October 2014, firmly established ‘Bake Off’ as a top television series. Over 12 million people watched the final episode in which Nancy Birtwhistle became the current ‘Bake Off’ champion (more people than watched the World Cup final!). Two further series have been commissioned.  Other Bake Off television includes ‘Extra Slice’, hosted by Jo Brand on BBC Two, ‘Junior Bake Off’ on CBBC and ‘Celebrity Bake Off’ on BBC Two.

The Great British Bake Off is an exceptional commercial success. Over 1 million books have been sold since it first appeared in 2010. Many have been Sunday Times bestsellers.
