About Elmer the Patchwork Elephant

First published by Andersen Press in 1989, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant™ is a world-famous picture book series, created by David McKee. Elmer features in over 30 books, helping children to learn about friendship and to accept and celebrate being different. Translated into 50 languages, over 10 million copies of Elmer have been sold. Elmer and his distinctive patchwork are much-loved by families, carers, nurseries and schools internationally.

Elmer licensed products include plush, melamine, greetings & wrap, toys, dress-up and homeware. Metrostar manage apparel, accessories and bedding for Elmer in the UK through licensees Paul Dennicci, JoJo Maman Bebe, Lifemarque and Cooneen. Since Metrostar’s appointment in 2016, baby and pre-school apparel collections have featured in TU at Sainsbury’s, TU at Argos, JoJo Maman Bebe and M&Co. Further ranges are in development.

In celebration of Elmer’s 30th Birthday, boutique brands Belo and Me, Lil’ Cubs, and Eva & Indie are launching special edition Elmer products and LifeMarque will launch a feature backpack, adding to new product launches across the Elmer product portfolio. Elmer’s brand owners and publishers, Andersen Press, are supporting Elmer’s 30th with a huge collection of new events and activities and a new theatre production is set to tour the UK in 2019.
