Metrostar is Lead Agent For Elmer the Patchwork Elephant

Andersen Press has appointed Metrostar lead agent for its classic picture book property, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. Metrostar have worked with Andersen in the apparel category since 2016, growing it from scratch into a successful property with ranges in Sainsbury’s and JoJo Maman Bebe. Metrostar will now manage the entire consumer products programme for Elmer across all categories.

TU launches fifth Elmer collection

TU at Sainsbury’s launches its fifth Elmer the Patchwork Elephant baby wear range, which consists of 9 items.  Designed by Paul Dennicci, it features a bold multicoloured stripe, making it Elmer’s most striking baby collection to date. It is also the first big Elmer product range to use the new 30th anniversary packaging – which will be a feature of new Elmer products in 2019.

Limited Edition Dresses from Eva & Indie to celebrate Elmer’s 30th

Boutique kidswear company, Eva & Indie has collaborated with Andersen Press on a limited edition Elmer dress. The beautiful Elmer print cotton dress, designed by Eva & Indie’s Viv Gaprelian, is a completely unique addition to the Elmer clothing range and there will be just 100 made, numbered and personally addressed to each buyer.

Transparent TV awards First Look to Metrostar

Leading factual producer, Transparent TV, has appointed Metrostar as its literary agent. The parties previously worked together on a successful tie in to Michael Portillo’s Hidden Histories (Channel 5) and under this new ‘first look’ relationship, are developing book ideas to accompany Transparent’s new series.

Krispy Kreme Mother’s Day Gift for Morrisons

Beauty and gift licensee, Hall & Associates, has launched a new Krispy Kreme line as part of the Mother’s Day gifting programme in Morrisons. The popular Krispy Kreme bath fizzer from the 2018 gifting range has been refashioned into a doughnut shape for this special event.

Metrostar to represent The Jockey Club

The Jockey Club has chosen Metrostar, after a multiple agency pitch, to manage global brand licensing for The Jockey Club and its associated brands such as The Derby, The Grand National and the Cheltenham Festival. The aim is to create an premium lifestyle brand with international reach into key markets for British heritage properties, such as the Far East, the US, Europe and the Middle East. The Jockey Club, which was created in 1750, is governed by Royal Charter and is the World’s pre-eminent horse racing brand.

Blues & William Lamb sign up with Elmer

Kids apparel licensee, Blues Clothing, has signed up with Elmer to create kids outerwear. The first products are boys and girls Ts to celebrate World Book Day on Character.com. Leading accessories licensee, William Lamb, is developing a unisex Elmer backpack for the same retailer.

Chetna Makan returns to Metrostar

Popular food writer and presenter, Chetna Makan, has re-joined Metrostar. The former Bake Off contestant published her first book through the agency, The Cardamom Trail, and went on to publish two further books and build a strong following on Youtube. Chetna is now looking to extend her work with brands and look for new TV opportunities. Metrostar’s recent move into full talent representation makes us the ideal place to facilitate that.

Lil’ Cubs Collaboration with Elmer launches first product

Award winning UK childrenswear brand, Lil’ Cubs x Elmer Collection, designed to celebrate Elmer’s 30th birthday this year, launches it’s first product, a Rainbow Elmer swaddle muslin.  There are 3 other products to follow: a Rainbow Elmer Sleepsuit and a Clouds Elmer Sleepsuit and Swaddle.

TU at Sainsbury’s launches two exclusive online garments for Elmer the Patchwork Elephant; a sleeping bag and a sleepsuit. Designed by Dennicci, the garments take inspiration from the David McKee Elmer the Patchwork Elephant books, published by Andersen Press.  2019 is an exciting year for Elmer, as it is his 30th anniversary.
