Metrostar Sews up Elmer Licensees

Metrostar has brokered a number of additional deals for Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.  These include Casa Chicos for baby apparel and nursery lines, JoJo Maman Bebe for kids’ capsule collection and Cooneen for children’s nightwear.  In addition, TU at Sainsbury’s and M&Co will launch new baby ranges through the brand’s current licensee Dennicci.

Alice Tait Publishes her first book

Alice Tait, the popular British illustrator, has published her first book ‘No Nancy No!’ with Walker Books.  The deal was brokered by Stuart Cooper, Managing Editor, of Metrostar.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts appoints Metrostar and signs four deals

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and its Master Agent, Brand Central, have chosen Metrostar to manage its licensing activities in the United Kingdom.

Metrostar began working with Krispy Kreme’s UK company at BLE and has already signed four licensees to the programme : Hall & Associates are developing beauty ranges for Boots and other retailers; Kimm & Miller are creating food gift collections; Gibson’s are developing puzzles and BCI are creating women’s nightwear. The first products will be launched in Autumn 2017.

Ruby Tandoh publishes second book

Bake Off 2013 finalist and Guardian food columnist, Ruby Tandoh’s second book ‘Flavour: Eat What You Love’ is published today by Chatto & Windus. ‘Flavour’ contains over 170 recipes – sweet and savoury – for every day, every budget, every taste, in a cookbook that puts your appetite first.

Boj joins Metrostar

Pesky Productions, producer of the CBeebies hit Boj, has chosen Metrostar to represent him ahead of the launch of its forthcoming visitor attraction at the West Midland Safari Park. Metrostar will focus initially on retail plush, toys, apparel and book publishing.

Chetna Makan Publishes her first book

Chetna Makan, a semi-finalist in The Great British Bake Off 2014, has today published her first book ‘The Cardamom Trail’.  Chetna delves into the history of Indian herbs and spices and readers will learn how to match foods and flavour. The book is published by Octopus Books.

Andersen Press chooses Metrostar for Elmer

Andersen Press, publisher of the classic Elmer the Patchwork Elephant books by David McKee, has appointed Metrostar to assist with its licensing programme. Metrostar will focus on apparel and bedding for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.  In preparation, Andersen has completed a new style guide with Together Design and is working with Marshmallow Creative on new ‘looks’ for baby and toddler apparel.

Toot The Tiny Tugboat pyjamas coming to George at Asda

Toot the Tiny Tugboat‘ pyjamas, designed by Cooneen, will go on sale online at George at Asda in May 2016.  ‘Toot the Tiny Tugboat‘, produced by Lupus Films, is an animated TV series on Milkshake!, Cartoonito and Netflix.

New Licensing Partners for The Scout Association

Joining existing licensees, Ginger Fox and Peartree Heybridge, leading collectibles company Danbury Mint have partnered with Steiff, the inventors of the teddy bear, to develop a limited edition Steiff Cub Scout bear to celebrate Cubs100, the Cub Scouts centenary in 2016.  In addition, teNeues will launch the first Scouts wall calendar later this year.  Spineless Classics is also making reference to original Scouts material as it launches its framed print reproduction of Scouting For Boys.

Baby Cow chooses Metrostar for Wussywat the Clumsy Cat

Baby Cow has appointed Metrostar to manage its licensing for its latest CBeebies series, ‘Wussywat the Clumsy Cat‘.  ‘Wussywat the Clumsy Cat’ is a simple 2D pre-school animation where our hero, Wussywat, a curious and ever so clumsy cat, discovers the world in all its wonder. The series was launched on CBeebies in June 2015 and has already reached over 50% of his target market, pre-school children.
