ALICE TAIT CHOOSES METROSTAR

Bath-based artist, Alice Tait, is Metrostar’s newest client. Alice’s giftware collections ‘London’, ‘Paris’ and ‘Great British Dogs’ are already established in retailers such as John Lewis and Waterstone’s. Metrostar will extend Alice’s reach into new product areas, retailers and territories.

Toot the Tiny Tugboat Steams Ahead!

Digital-I data has confirmed Toot’s early success on Milkshake. He outperforms his overall slot average by 28%, and by a massive 73% for key target group, boys aged 4-6. Toot also launched on Cartoonito in March and is already their 3rd most popular show for boys aged 4-9 and the 5th most popular show for housewives with kids aged 0-3. Both channels have now confirmed that Toot will be on air every day until the end of 2015.

MARY-ANNE BOERMANS SIGNS HER SECOND BOOK DEAL WITH SQUARE PEG

Mary-Anne Boermans has signed her second book deal with Square Peg for ‘Deja Food’.  A finalist on The Great British Bake Off in 2011 and food historian, Mary-Anne presents over 100 classic recipes that are not just delicious and fascinating in their own right but contain valuable lessons for today’s cooks.  Much more than a collection of old recipes, this is a complete philosophy of cooking and eating based on the culinary wisdom of our ancestors.  The deal was brokered by Stuart Cooper of Metrostar.

CHETNA MAKAN SIGNS HER FIRST BOOK DEAL WITH OCTOPUS PUBLISHING

Chetna Makan, a semi-finalist in the 2014 series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ has signed her first book deal with Octopus Publishing.  Chetna is currently writing ‘Chetna Bakes with Flavours of the East‘, which is due for publication in April 2016.  The deal was brokered by Stuart Cooper of Metrostar.

Stuart Cooper, Metrostar’s Managing Editor, is pleased to announce that Alice Tait has signed her first book deal with Walker Books for ‘No, Nancy, No!’. Alice, a popular British illustrator, introduces Nancy, the cheekiest and most mischievous girl in all of London and her loyal and loveable sausage dog, Roger.

Giani UK Launches ‘Bake Off’ Kitchen Electrical Range

Following its debut at Spring Fair, Giani UK will begin shipping its Great British Bake Off kitchen electricals in Summer 2015. In red, black, cream and duck egg blue, there are six products; a kitchen scale, a stand mixer, a hand blender, a hand whisk, a food processor and a table blender.

CHINELO BALLY SIGNS BOOK DEAL WITH PAVILION

Chinelo Bally, The Great British Sewing Bee runner-up, has signed her first book deal with Pavilion.  In this exciting new dressmaking book, Chinelo will explain her freehand cutting method and let us in to the secret of how she does it.  The deal was brokered by Stuart Cooper of Metrostar.

DEAR ZOO LICENSING GROWS AS BOOK SALES SOAR

Metrostar announces new licensing deals, new products from existing licensees and a raft of consumer marketing initiatives in support of the classic Dear Zoo Pop-Up book from Macmillan Children’s Publishing. Milly and Flynn is launching a range of Dear Zoo wooden toys at London Toy Fair.  Robert Frederick is launching its Dear Zoo storage and stationery collection at International Spring Fair.  Long-standing licensee, Paul Lamond Games is showcasing a new Dear Zoo dominoes game alongside its range of jigsaws.  Master plush licensee, Aurora, continues its strong support of Dear Zoo by partnering with publishers Macmillan Children’s to create a book plus plush gift box-set.  Current marketing partners include Tumble Tots, Giraffe restaurants and Eurocamp, while Cartoonito featured a Dear Zoo animation in its Christmas TV sponsorship.
