Turner Broadcasting has acquired Lupus Films’ new animated pre-school series Toot the Tiny Tugboat, which will air on Cartoonito early 2015. The series currently airs on Milkshake! on Channel 5 as well as S4C and Metrostar is the licensing agent.
This multi-book deal was brokered by Claire Potter and Stuart Cooper at Metrostar. Hodder & Stoughton will be working closely with Love Productions on this next phase of the Great British Bake Off publishing programme, which will extend the brand in a variety of formats.

NBCUniversal, the owner of award-winning drama, Downton Abbey has partnered with mail order specialist, S&R Premium Brands to create Downton Abbey at Home, a home wares catalogue and e-commerce website featuring items inspired by the popular ITV series. The deal was brokered by Metrostar.
Friendly Family Productions has appointed Metrostar as the UK licensing agent for its classic literary and television property, Little House on the Prairie. Little House on the Prairie has been on television for 40 years and is currently broadcast in the UK on the True Entertainment channel and in 33 countries worldwide. The books by Laura Ingalls Wilder have sold over 60 million copies in 100 countries and have their 80th anniversary in 2015.
Two Metrostar authors, James Morton and Mary-Anne Boermans won awards for Best Cookery Book and Best First Book at the Guild of Food Writers Awards. James (2013) and Mary-Anne (2011) were both finalists on The Great British Bake Off. James’s book, Brilliant Bread is published by Ebury. Mary-Anne’s book, Great British Bakes is published by Square Peg.
The Great British Bake Off has five new licensing partners. They are: Otter House for stationery, Danilo for dated products, Giani UK for eletricals, Eaglemoss for partworks and Lakeland for kitchenware. Products will begin to appear at retail in Autumn 2014. The fifth television series begins on BBC One in Summer 2014.
The Great British Sewing Bee returns to BBC Two with a second series of eight episodes this week. Quadrille publishes the tie in, which is the first in a two-book deal, brokered by Metrostar. Quadrille also published the tie in book to the first series in 2013.
